EVT (Endovenous therapy)
This laser method takes the desire, to treat the varices that have emerged from the great and short saphenous vein as gently as possible, into account. A laser probe is inserted into the varicose veins in the ankle area. Through the use of heat, the vein is desolated from within. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
Vasculight-Laser (Neodym:YAG-Laser) Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet)-Laser
Treatment with this type of laser is suitable for spider veins. The Nd:YAG-Laser can also be used to treat any spider veins that are too fine for even the thinnest sclerotherapy needle. The effect the Nd:YAG-Laser has on spider veins is based on a photothermal principles. The light of the laser, with a wavelength of 1064 nm, penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the red blood pigment hemoglobin, located in the blood cells of the spider veins. This energy is converted into heat, which thereupon lead sto the dismantlement of the spider veins. Treatment with the Nd:YAG-Laser is almost pain-free, as the lasered area of the skin merely reacts similar to a light sunburn.
